If you are moving with your company then they most likely will take care of your travel arrangements for you. Even if that is the case you should inquire about your traveling plans and if possible even have the plane ticket in your possession. This will make it easier to call the airline and check your flight confirmation.
But if this is not the case and you will have to take care of your own travel arrangements make sure to get an early start. Booking early can also help you save money. Research with different airlines to make sure you find the best rates with little or no connections.
You can also contact your local travel agency and have your representative do the search for you. This will also help to make sure you get the best rate. Keep in mind the local time zones. It might be harder or more dangerous to arrive at your destination late at night.
