Obtaining a Drivers License
One of the most essential things you may need once you get to your new destination will be a driver’s license. Many countries do not recognize a U.S. driver's license or you might run into some trouble in countries where English is not understood. Learn about your countries rules and regulations to make sure you won’t run into any problems over there.
And even thought some countries will accept an international driver's permit it would still be a good idea to qualify for an in-country driver's license as soon as possible. International driver's permits are not always valid in every country for the length of your stay. It is usually only a matter of courtesy that the holder of the permit is allowed to drive with it for any length of time.
